Planning for your
Admission/Discharge

We strive to make your hospital stay as comfortable as possible, and ensure you’re receiving the best quality patient care throughout your entire healthcare journey. Here, you’ll find general information on the processes that may take place during pre-admission, your stay and upon your discharge.
Pre-Admission
Your consultant or the clinic staff would have made the necessary reservations for your admission and guided you to the Office for your pre-admission registration and financial counseling so that you understand how the payment process works and what you can expect to pay.

What to Bring
Any medical card or letter of guarantee (GL) from your insurance company or employer (only applicable for companies that have credit arrangements with the hospital)
A 60 – 90 minutes of processing time is required for GL application should you wish to utilize your insurance medical card.
The room and board type shall be allocated in accordance to your medical benefit as advised by your insurance company or employer. Please take note that additional charges shall be imposed should you choose to upgrade your room and board type beyond the medical coverage.
An Admission Pack consisting of basic toiletries (such as toothbrush, toothpaste, and face towel) will be provided upon admission.
You may want to bring personal items such as pyjamas and toiletries.
There is a drawer for you to safe-keep your belongings. However, in the interest of safety, you are advised not to bring valuable items such large sums of money, jewellery or other valuables during your hospital stay. The hospital will not be held responsible for the loss of any items.
You shall receive complimentary meals which are served in accordance with the instructions from the Physician and Dietitian to suit your medical condition. Please keep us informed if you are a vegetarian.

Discharge
Once your doctor deems you are fit and medically able, you are free to discharge. It will take approximately two (2) hours to process your bills and prescriptions. Once the bill is ready, our staff will inform you and a discharge slip will be issued.
In the event you are being discharged on a Sunday or Public Holiday, the processing time may be delayed if you are using insurance. We reserve the right to collect a reasonable sum should you wish to return home before we secure a final GL from your insurer. The refunds (if any) will be processed within seven (7) working day.
Additional charges will be imposed for discharge patients who stay in the ward for more than one (1) hour after the issuance of the discharge slip. You are advised to be transferred to the Patient Lounge while waiting for relative to pick you up.

We make every effort to provide you with the room of your choice. We have a variety of rooms to help aid your recovery process. All rooms are equipped with interactive TV and access to Free Wi-Fi.
Our healthcare personnel are always ready to assist you during your stay at our hospital. Speak with any of our staff if you have any questions as we are committed to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Meals
We are redefining the boundaries of our inpatient meal experience with wholesome food menus and beverage service. We are proud to welcome Grand DarulMakmur Hotel as the meal provider at our facility.

Appointment Checklist
In order to make the most of your appointment, here is a checklist that may help you plan for a pleasant and productive visit.
- Compile all the documents to bring to your doctor’s visit. This includes:
- – A list of all medications taken, including over-the-counter and herbal medications.
- – Copies of any tests, x-rays or medical records related to your medical problems
- Review any special directions from your doctor about diet or medication restrictions prior to your appointment.
- Ask a friend or relative to accompany you if you wish. Depending on the type of appointment you have, you may need someone to take you home.
- Request for an interpreter or communication support if needed.
- Do not be afraid to ask if you do not understand. Be sure to ask your doctor any questions or express any concerns you have.
- Here are examples of what you may want to ask your doctor:
- – If surgery is required, consider asking what are the procedures recommended, any alternatives, how much would it cost etc.
- – About your treatment, such as the treatment options, duration of treatment, the cost of treatment, any side effects etc.
- – About your symptoms or diagnosis, such as the severity of your condition, what causes the condition etc
- If you prefer to see another doctor, we will make every effort to schedule additional tests and consultations at the earliest available time.
- If you need to be admitted, we will coordinate the admission arrangements and provide the hospital with information prior to your arrival.

To reduce registration and admission process waiting time, please advise us on your appointed insurance company for us to proceed in obtaining a guarantee letter prior to your admission.
